TRACK OF THE WEEK, OCTOBER 22ND 2017 - ‘PALE BLACK EYE’

Not exactly a new one this week, but we’ve been scouring the MANCHESTER ORCHESTRA back catalogue in preparation for tonight’s big Glasgow show, and Pale Black Eye in particular has been getting some real mileage. 

Taken from 2011′s Simple Math, it’s a bluesy track about independency and love at a distance, replete with organ fills and a crescendoing violin backline that twists and writhes between sombre drama and put-upon merriness.
