THE MOUNTAIN GOATS are a paradox. Cut down to their basest form in frontman John Darnielle and his multi-instrumentalist partner Matt Douglas, the show they deliver to a sold-out Glasgow crowd seems to contradict itself at every angle. At once, soulful and animated; the clash of a smart suit jacket and bare feet.
